StenoKendra

Privacy Policy

Last updated 8/25/2026

1. Introduction

StenoKendra ("StenoKendra," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online platform that helps students prepare for stenographer, typing, and related government examinations through dictation practice, typing tests, and paid courses. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using StenoKendra, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Practice activity. When you use Dictation Transcription or Self-Practice, we store the audio you listen to or upload, the transcript you type, your selected speed and settings, and your resulting scores and word-per-minute figures, so you can track your own progress over time.

Payment information. Course and plan purchases are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We store the order and subscription details needed to activate your plan (such as plan type, amount, and payment status) — we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details ourselves.

Login and device information. To keep accounts secure, StenoKendra allows only one active login session per account. Each login and logout is recorded with its approximate time, IP address, and device/browser information, so that you and our support team can review recent account activity.

Cookies and analytics. We use a small set of cookies — an anonymous visitor identifier to distinguish new visitors from returning ones, and, where enabled, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. See "Cookies & Tracking" below.

Messages you send us. If you fill in our Contact Us or waitlist forms, we collect the name, email, phone number, and message (and, for waitlist entries, the exam you're preparing for) that you provide.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account, and to let you log in securely

  • To run the dictation, typing, and self-practice features, and to score and store your attempts

  • To process payments and activate the correct plan or course access

  • To respond to messages sent through our Contact or waitlist forms

  • To detect misuse, keep the platform secure, and enforce our single-device login policy

  • To understand overall site usage and improve the platform

  • To send you account-related emails, such as email verification codes and password resets

We do not use your practice content or personal information to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use a small, first-party cookie to recognise returning visitors anonymously, which helps us understand how many people use the site. Where analytics is enabled, we also use Google Tag Manager, which may set its own cookies to measure site traffic on our behalf, subject to Google's own privacy practices. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still function, though some usage insights on our side may be less accurate.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share personal data only where it's needed to run the platform:

  • Razorpay — to process course and plan payments

  • Cloudinary — to host images such as blog and banner artwork (not your personal practice content)

  • Our email provider — to deliver verification codes, password resets, and account notifications

  • Google (Tag Manager / Analytics) — where enabled, for aggregate usage analytics

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Security

Passwords are stored using one-way hashing, never in plain text. Login sessions are limited to one active device at a time, and every login and logout is logged so unusual activity can be reviewed. Practice audio you upload is stored privately and is only accessible while you're logged in. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your data against unauthorised access.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account and practice data for as long as your account is active, so your progress and history remain available to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep certain records (such as payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

8. Your Rights

You can review and update your name and phone number at any time from your Account page. Your email address is fixed to your account and can't be self-edited, since it's your login identity. To request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your account, contact us using the details below.

9. Children's Privacy

StenoKendra is intended for students preparing for adult government examinations and is not directed at children under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our features or legal obligations change. We'll update the "last updated" date below when we do. Continued use of StenoKendra after a change means you accept the revised policy.
